2020 has seen gigs and events cancelled, venues closed and changes to virtually every facet of our lives.
Yet there is still hope for next year with plans already in place for many of our annual events to make a comeback.
From gigs and festivals, to sporting events and much more, here are some of the 'post lockdown' events that we can look forward to in 2021:
1. Escaping for a weekend
If you enjoy live music, camping and drinking from plastic cups, then you are in luck. There are plenty of festival dates already in the diary for next year, including, Beat Heerder - July 15-18 2021, PrestFest - June 5-6 2021, Lancashire Encounter - September 17 -19, 2021 and Kendal Calling - July 29 - Aug 1 2021.
2. Heading to a gig
There's nothing like live music, particularly when it at a local venue like The Continental, The Ferret or Roper Hall - and the gigs in 2021 are already starting to stack up, including, The Feeling at Roper Hall and The Ferret, The Alarm at The Ferret and Alasdair Roberts at The Continental.
3. Getting together
We've all missed getting together to celebrate events like Pride festival, spending time with family and friends Easter egg rolling in Avenham Park and going for a run with friends at a Park Run. The good news is they are all set to return next year.
4. A Merry Christmas
As the 'rule of six' comes into force and rumours of a second national lockdown continue to circulate, Christmas as we know it is looking increasingly doubtful. We're crossing our fingers that by Christmas 2021 we'll be able to welcome back our Christmas lights switch-on, Santa Dash, Panto plus getting together with family.
