Talented Chorley artist picked for national TV show comp
Liam Dickinson, 29, is one of 60 out of 2,500 people nationally who were selected to compete in Portrait Artist of the Year 2017.
The show is a bit like Masterchef but for portrait artists. It is hosted by presenter Frank Skinner and features many celebrities.

Hide AdLiam has spent the last five years since he graduated with a fine arts degree from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston (UCLan),building up his business painting portraits.
He was selected for the show the second time he applied and being chosen was a big encouragement to him.
“I’ve been working at it for so long and you get a lot of ups and down and a lot of set backs but it is nice to be finally accepted into the show,” he said.
“It’s nice to get a bit of exposure like that, to get a platform or stage is great. You don’t get that so often and its an exciting opportunity.”

Hide AdTo be accepted onto the show Liam had to send judges a self portrait of himself.
Tonight Liam will face nine other hopefuls keen to get through to the semi finals. He and other contestants will be challenged to paint a celebrity in four hours.
