Over in Chorley, the highly anticipated Chorley Flower Show returns to Astley between Friday, July 31 and Sunday, August 2.

Running between 10am to 5pm, the 2026 event promises to be its biggest yet with more entertainment and activities than ever before.

Finally, in South Ribble, Samlesbury Hall is holding a Living History Weekend between Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.

Called ‘Skirmish’, the event, featuring live historians Sir John Saville’s Household, allows visitors the chance to step back in time and experience life as it was in the 1470s.

Over two action-packed days, Samlesbury Hall will be transformed into a bustling late Medieval scene full of sights, sounds, and smells from the past.

The event is free but donations are welcome.
