This Thursday, the reserve, near Burscough, is hosting a toddlers Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to raise money for the Meningitis Trust and for their parent organisation The Wildlife and Wetlands Trust, WWT.
The day will include a sponsored toddle waddle to the duckling nursery, storytime sessions and games of pin the grin on the Cheshire Cat, find the playing cards and toss the hat.
There are prizes for the best-dressed toddler and there will be colouring sheets, face painting and lots of other fun, starting at 10.30am with story time.
Centre manager Nick Brooks said: “Coming along to this event will give toddlers an opportunity to start an enjoyment of nature at an early age.”
Entry is £3 per toddler.
