Hoghton Players host Infernal Nonsense
Titled Infernal Nonsense, the concerts provide a lighthearted look at the way Gilbert and Sullivan has explored the Seven Deadly Sins (along with a few more modern foibles that didn’t make it into the top seven.)
The concerts will feature excerpts from Gilbert and Sullivan’s best loved works, including Trial by Jury, HMS Pinafore, The Mikado, Ruddigore, The Sorcerer, The Gondoliers and many more. The voices of The Hoghton Players, featuring both solos and full ensemble work, will explore, in music, themes of Pride, Envy, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, Greed and Lust.
The concerts will be at:
St. Mark’s Church, Scarisbrick Friday April 7
Holy Trinity Church Hall, Southport - Saturday April 8
Formby United Reformed Church - Saturday April 22
Holy Trinity Church, Tarleton - Friday April 28
All concerts commence at 7:30 pm
Tickets for each concert are £7 per person.
