Starting at 9am tomorrow, the day features a traditional parade, which begins in neighbouring Wesham, wending through all the main streets towards the town’s Recreation Ground.

Each church elects a local beauty as Rose Queen, and they lead the procession, together with all of their attendants and a colourful retinue of bands and banners.

Brass and pipe bands provide the music as they walk with the procession which all ends on the field for a real Lancastrian Club Day.

This is a real traditional family day with a long history of bringing together the churches in the town. Each year, all the villagers join in and the event brings everyone in Kirkham and Wesham together, for an event which always hails the start of the summer in a special day for everyone.
