16:35 Worcester

Despite the flat season being well and truly at the forefront of racing at this time of year there’s still action available for the die hard jumps fan. Worcester has a decent meeting today and one I would advise all punters to side with the majority of AP McCoy’s rides. A stance I am well and truly taking in the first race here.

The champion jockey rides It Is What It Is who had a very good win at Ffos Las on its previous start. A raise in the weights along with a penalty shouldn’t be enough to keep the horse away from another win.

The seven year old gelding has the best connections and best chance to win Worcester’s opener.

It Is What It Is (WIN)

18:05 Worcester

Sticking with national hunt racing, sticking with Worcester and also sticking with another McCoy mount.

The Champ, as with the first race, rides another seven year old gelding and I’m predicting the same result.

AP teams up with top UK trainer David Pipe and that is a great combination in anyone’s book.

The horse in question is Street Entertainer who won on its seasonal bow and with only three runs this year may have room to improve.

The biggest danger is top weight Kyles Faith but the horse has raced a lot this year and being burdened with top weight certainly won’t help its chances.

Martin Keighleys horse certainly has decent ability but I can’t see past anotherbMcCoy win with Street Entertainer.

Street Entertainer (WIN)

18:15 Bellewstown

I take a trip over to Ireland for my final selection of the day which sees a five furlong handicap for two-year-olds.

All eight runners are maidens which makes it much trickier to work out but as far as I can see it should only be a two horse race between those at the head of the market, Spirit Stone and Sauanna Belle.

Spirit Stone made a fantastic start to its career and despite its third last time out its two runs prior to that were very disappointing indeed. Despite a great jockey booking and low weight it’s seeming inconsistency is too much of a negative. The horse also has to contend with a less than advantageous draw.

Sauanna Belle is lumbered with top weight but it shouldn’t be too detrimental. She can be excused her latest run after being entered in to a seven furlong race and as such the drop back in trip will suit better.

The horse’s trainer Johnny Murtagh is bang in form after picking up The Ebor and has, in my opinion, the best flat jockey in Ireland, Pat Smullen taking the reigns. Add to this the horses good draw in stall one and she must have a great chance.

Suanna Belle (WIN)
