Lower Breck forward becomes Morecambe’s latest summer signing
Shrimps announced new striker’s arrival on Friday evening.
Alex Cherera became Morecambe’s newest face when the club confirmed his signing on Friday evening.
The 21-year-old has penned a two-year deal at the Halo Aerospace Stadium after the Shrimps agreed an undisclosed fee with Lower Breck.
Cherera scored 16 goals for Lower Breck in the 2025/26 Northern Premier League Division One West campaign and had netted once in four matches at the start of this season.
He made his debut as a late substitute in Morecambe’s 3-0 win over Brackley Town in National League North on Saturday, replacing Joe Garner with four minutes remaining of normal time.
Lower Breck’s club secretary, Jim Davies, paid tribute to Cherera once the deal was completed.
He said: “Lower Breck FC are delighted to see another player they have helped develop enter the full-time ranks as a professional.
“Having worked with Alex since he joined the club we now wish him well as he joins a club with a rich history.
“We look forward to seeing him thrive and also working together with Morecambe FC in the future.”
