Ex-Preston North End and Stoke City bosses feature in running for Cardiff City manager job
Cardiff City are on the search for a new manager
Mark Hughes, Nathan Jones and Alex Neil are three managers who feature in the running for the vacant Cardiff City job.

The Bluebirds parted ways with Erol Bulut last weekend, following Saturday’s 0-2 defeat to Leeds United. Cardiff have collected one point from their first six Championship games - their worst start to a campaign for 49 years.
Pressure had started to build on Bulut, who was appointed in the summer of 2023, guided the club to a 12th placed finish last season and signed a two-year deal in June. Omer Riza has been placed in caretaker charge of Cardiff, with first-team coach Nikolaos Karydas having been dismissed.
PNE don’t play the Bluebirds until December 1, but who could be in the hot seat for that clash? The current favourite for the job, with BetVictor (24/09, 09:30, is Mark Hughes, who last managed Bradford City until October last year.
He is followed by Wales assistant coach, James Rowberry. Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones is third favourite to take over at his boyhood club, with KV Kortrijk manager Freyr Alexandersson and ex-PNE chief Alex Neil then following in the list. Ryan Lowe, who left Preston last month, is priced at 20/1.
