Norwich ran out 4-0 winners at Deepdale thanks to two goals each for Teemu Pukki and Kieran Dowell.
It was a poor day for PNE who changed their formation for the game, a switch that proved not to work.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day...
5. Andrew Hughes - 4
Like the rest of the defence, it was just a tough day at the office. PNE were defensively at sea and even simple things, like a backpass to the goalkeeper, would go wrong. Photo: CameraSport - Mick Walker
6. Alan Browne - 4
The PNE skipper needs to find his position and really nail it down, although part of that is not his own doing. Initially playing as a right midfielder, he seemed to pick the wrong option when to keep it or when to give the ball off and his work rate couldn't cover his flaws on the day. 7. Ali McCann - 5
McCann was one of an unfortunate duo that were withdrawn early into the game as PNE began to sink without a trace. He had not done much in the game, but neither had any of his teammates. Photo: CameraSport - Mick Walker
8. Ryan Ledson - 4
To his credit, Ledson was the only player in the side to actually put in a couple of tackles as Norwich ran the show on Saturday but was still left chasing shadows. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
