Stockley's 30-yard shot against Birmingham City at Deepdale on October 31 has been nominated for the honour.

He is up against Barnsley midfielder Alex Mowatt and Reading striker Yakou Meite in the shortlisting.

Announcing Stockley's nomination, the EFL said: "When a player known for his heading ability chests a ball 30 yards out, the last thing you expect him to do is catch it so sweetly as it drops, it is dipping under the bar a moment later."

Voting is now open via the Sky Bet Championship Twitter account @SkyBetChamp and closes at 3pm on Monday, November 16. The winner will be announced on Friday, November 20.

Stockley's strike against Birmingham was his first goal of the season and ninth overall in a North End shirt.
