Preston North End player ratings v Wolves: Clarke and Leroy decent but defensive errors once more
Scores after a disappointing result.
Preston North End lost 3-1 to Wolves on their return to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.
Here are our player ratings.
Starting XI
Daniel Iversen: Strong saves to keep out Gomes and Mane. Nothing he could really do aboufirstt any of the goals. Distribution mixed again. 6
Harry Clarke: Promising moves forward, some good crosses into the box. Got a good long throw on him. Handled Mane - a real threat - decently. 6.5
Jordan Storey: Too slow on the cover for Lopez’s first goal. Headed effort went wide early in second half. 5.5
Liam Lindsay: Out-muscled by Lopez and beaten for pace for his goal. Wolves attack too quick for him at times. 5
Andrew Hughes: Poor pass before first Lopez goal and not close enough across to Armstrong for his. Beaten in air a fair few times. 5
Ali McCann: Him and Leroy a very solid midfield partnership, decent clearances of loose balls in PNE’s box. Picked up a yellow and mistimed an interception prior to second goal. 6
Léo Leroy: Looked sharp and eager to retain possession. A real calmness in his game. Also booked. 7
Callum Lang: Energetic in first 15, pressing well, but less effective after that. 5.5
Alfie Devine: Set pieces didn’t come to much. Some decent crosses from open play though. 6
Delano Burgzorg: Assisted Thompson. Caused couple of problems at the back post. 6.5
Jusef Erabi: Nice link-up play when deeper. Struggled in front of goal. 6
