Tom Cannon and Ched Evans both scored second half goals to give Ryan Lowe’s side maximum points and extended their unbeaten run to five games.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day...

9. CM: Alan Browne
The PNE skipper was due to start at the weekend but was instead needed to be at the birth of his baby - rightly so. Now he's back in the fold, he should come back into the side. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd

10. LWB: Robbie Brady
Alvaro Fernandez has had a good run in the side but it might be time for Lowe to switch it up with Brady coming off the bench on Saturday. Away from home he may look for a little more experience, although Fernandez has done very well and would be justified in keeping his spot. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley

11. ST: Tom Cannon
After a goal at the weekend, the Everton loanee must start in midweek. He looks a threat and that is often an issue for North End, who don't have enough. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth

12. ST: Ched Evans
He showed just how important he is to the side on Saturday as he came on after an hour and changed the game, though many already knew how vital he is. Although Lowe would like to be able to give him a rest every now and then, he's too important to leave out. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
