Tom Bradshaw scored in the first half with Zian Flemming netting the Lions’ second in the second half.
PNE had their chances to get ahead and find a way back into the game but couldn’t produce the cutting edge required on the day.
Here’s how we reated the North End players…
13. Alvaro Fernandez - 7
Looked really bright when he came on and despite Lowe's reservations, didn't seem fazed by the occasion or The Den. Needs to be involved for PNE from the off, he's too much of an asset not to be. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
14. Ryan Ledson - 6
Came on for Ben Whiteman and did a decent job, although at the time Millwall were content with sitting back on their lead and he had less to deal with. Photo: CameraSport - Rob Newell
15. Bambo Diaby - 6
Didn't look entirely comfortable initially but settled into the game. Millwall were happy to keep their lead though so he needed only to deal with a few balls over the top which his pace makes relatively straightforward. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
16. Liam Delap - 7
Managed to beat his man a couple of times in his cameo and seems like he has something to offer for North End if they can find more minutes for him. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
