Preston North End are in for a reasonably quiet January transfer window, but incoming and outgoing business is not off the table.
The Lilywhites do need to move players on, in order to facilitate their own recruits. So far, youngster Lewis Leigh is the only exit. He has signed for Crewe Alexandra, on a loan deal until the end of the season, after a spell with National League side Bromley.
Here, we look at the members of PNE's squad who could also head out or leave this month.

5. Josh Seary
Another young player for whom there are high hopes at Preston. Back in August, there were plans to get Seary out on loan to League Two but those plans had to be put on hold, following injury to Calvin Ramsay. Lowe described Seary as a potential 'long term' option in PNE's first team and it is now time for Seary to start fulfilling that potential. The 19-year-old has not made many match day squads, so North End could certainly look to get him a beneficial move. | Preston World Copyright © 2023 CameraSport

6. Ben Woodburn
You would expect any exit for the Welshman to happen in the summer, upon the expiry of his contract. But, Lowe will look at any of his fringe players getting out on loan for game time, if something crops up and they fancy the move. The 24-year-old is at a stage of his career where he can't be happy not playing. It's 15 substitute appearances in the league for Woodburn this season and one start in the EFL Cup, with none in the Championship. He has been an unused substitute 10 times and eight of his 15 outings from the bench have been for fewer than 10 minutes. PNE looks highly unlikely to be a long-term club for the former Liverpool man. | CameraSport - Dave Howarth

7. Mikey O’Neill in action for Southport
O'Neill was the first youngster to get an opportunity in the senior side under Lowe, but he's fallen out of the picture somewhat in the last 18 months. The forward's deal is up this summer, but PNE do have an option. His loan spell at Southport was until January 6, so North End could well look to get him back out after his two goals in 15 appearances there. | Southport FC
