Preston North End captain Alan Browne has joined the elite list of players to make 400 appearances for the Lilywhites. North End's captain was introduced in the second half of last Saturday's draw at Millwall, as he reached the incredible milestone.
But, where does that place him in the all time table of those to play for Preston? We take a look here, at those sitting above Browne - who has previously said he would like to reach the number one spot one day.
9. Joe Walton (right) - 435 appearances
Snapped up from Manchester United in 1948, for a fee of £12,000. Walton went on to captain PNE on many occasions. 'He was so consistent in his full back role and he was to go on to form a superb full back partnership with Willie Cunningham'.
10. Graham Alexander - 421 appearances
A fine servant, captain and penalty taker for the Lilywhites. Signed from Luton, Alexander won promotion to the second tier in his first season. He returned to the club in 2012 and famously scored a free kick against Charlton Athletic with his final touch as a footballer.
11. Bobby Crawford - 407 appearances
A left half, the Scottish Crawford spent 11 years at PNE.
12. Alex Bruce - 404 appearances
Alex Bruce was a cult figure at PNE and enjoyed two stints with the club in the 1970s and 1980s. He scored more than 150 goals and formed a fantastic partnership with Mike Elwiss in the 1977/78 promotion season. 'Bruce was clinical in front of goal, ensuring he was the club’s top scorer in five of his first six seasons back in the North End side.' Photo: Archive
