Goals in either half gave the home side a 2-0 victory, this the first meeting between the teams in eight years.
Here are the PNE player ratings.
5. Sepp van den Berg 6
Caught out positionally for the first goal but generally one of PNE’s better performers. Led the counter-attack for their best chance. Photo: Camerasport
6. Ben Whiteman 6
Could have made himself a hero had he taken the chance which came his way early in the second half. Unlucky to be taken off. Photo: Camerasport
7. Alan Browne 6
The skipper had a decent game in midfield but let himself down by getting involved in the melee in stoppage-time having already been booked - resulting in a red card. Photo: Camerasport
8. Daniel Johnson 5
Got an early injury and didn’t seem himself after that, unable to produce the spark which was needed in the No.10 role. Photo: Camerasport
