Jayden Stockley scores Preston's consolation goal at Reading
How did the North End players rate in the 2-1 reverse?
The goalkeeper hesitated for the second goal but produced a fine fingertip save to push Ejaria's shot against the post Caught out upfield by Swift's turn for the first goal and had plenty to contend with when Reading were attacking in the first half. Seemed to leave the back pass for the second goal to Rudd rather than put his foot through it. Not as assured as he has been. Beaten in the air before the second goal and caught out a couple of times. Great recovery run in the second half to tackle Meite. A rare mistake from him leading to the second goal. Had plenty of defending to do in the first half as Reading got on top. An impressive shift from the midfielder when you bear in mind he was playing on one leg for part of the game. PNEs starman His radar was slightly off, with set pieces not finding their target and the midfielder missed a good second-half chance. In line with many of his team-mates he didnt hit the heights. A few too many passes went astray. Got better later in the game. Mainly played in a wider role but had little impact on the game. The Manchester City loanee came off at the interval. Played as part of a front three, playing down the middle and out wide. Got little joy in any of the roles and was subbed at half-time. Busy up front as he tried to find room to play. It was his shot which hit the post which led to North Ends consolation goal at the end. Looked lively after coming on as a half-time substitute but then pulled up with a hamstring injury just 11 minutes into his time on the pitch. Desperately unlucky. The half-time substitute won his fair share of high balsl, grafted hard and helped himself to a goal late on with a tidy finish. Replaced Barker in the 57th minute and did well on the left side of the front three. Saw a shot saved and another went over the bar.
