Player ratings: Coventry City 0 Preston North End 1

Preston North End collected their 10th away victory of the season, beating Coventry City 1-0 at St Andrew's.

Alan Browne scored the winner, the PNE skipper netting from the penalty spot after Ched Evans had been fouled by Sky Blues goalkeeper Ben Wilson.

Victory ensured Championship football for North End next season, Frankie McAvoy's record in charge being three wins, two draws and one defeat.

These are the North End player ratings, Ched Evans and Browne the stand-out players.

Put a first-half header wide when he should have done better. Worked hard up front and showed some nice touches. Photo: Camerasport

Powerhouse performance in attack. Won PNE's penalty and should have had another. Caused lots of problems for the Coventry defence. Photo: Camerasport

Came off the bench to replace Maguire just moments before PNE scored. Took the ball into good areas as North End saw the game out. Photo: Camerasport
