Phil Brown was Preston North End manager from January 2011 to December of that year.
Appointed as Darren Ferguson’s successor, Brown was unable to keep PNE in the Championship and then relieved of his duties the following campaign - after a run of one win in 11 games. North End had started the season with 22 points from a possible 27, but form fell off a cliff.
It wasn’t to be for Brown at North End, and the same can unfortunately be said for most of the players he recruited during his tenure. The Lilywhites utilised the loan market heavily and brought in several free transfers.
Here, we rate all 19 of the now Kidderminster Harriers boss’ PNE recruits.

9. Graham Alexander
A PNE legend, of course, but we are judging this on Grezza's second, shorter stay at North End. He scored a couple of goals in his 21 appearances that season, with a long time spent out injured. Alexander famously scored a free kick with his last kick in a Preston shirt. 5/10 | LEP

10. Brian McLean
Was transfer listed in the summer of 2012, after one year at Deepdale. McClean scored a couple of goals in his 18 North End appearances. Didn't disgrace himself but his impact was relatively minimal. 5/10 | LEP

11. Juvhel Tsoumou
Signed from German side Alemannia Aachen II and did score four goals in 22 appearances. Tsoumou would leave after one year at Preston though, with his contract terminated during Graham Westley's first summer at the club. 5/10 | Getty Images

12. Keammar Daley
Brought in from the same club as Ricardo Fuller several years prior - Tivoli Gardens - there was a lot of excitement around Daley. He signed on transfer deadline day, but would only play eight games for the club. He did score a stunning goal, in an away defeat to Charlton Athletic. 4/10 | EMPICS Sport
