The former Manchester United youngster arrived at Deepdale on deadline day two years ago having spent the 2015-16 on loan but has fallen down the pecking order.

He last appeared for PNE in the 3-0 defeat at Ipswich in November 2017 when the Lilywhites were in the midst of their defensive injury crisis and finished last season on loan at Scunthorpe in League One.

Former North End player Erik Meijer is part of the MVV Maastricht coaching staff.

Vermijl is the second player to depart Deepdale today after Ben Pringle joined Grimsby with Andy Boyle expected to follow later.
