Former Preston North End and Sheffield United man extends stay with League Two club
He left PNE in the summer of 2025
Former Preston North End striker and coach Ched Evans has prolonged his playing career.

Earlier this month, Fleetwood Town announced that they were in talks over a new deal for the centre-forward.
Now, the Cod Army have confirmed that Evans has put pen-to-paper on a one-year extension at Highbury Stadium.
Evans rejoined the club last summer, instead of staying at PNE in a coaching capacity. He featured in 48 games across all competitions and scored six goals, assisting eight more.
The Welshman had previously spent two-and-a-half years with Fleetwood, a successful stint which saw him score 37 goals in 99 appearances.
It was from there Preston signed Evans mid-way through the 2020/21 campaign. He went on to represent North End in 103 games, scoring 16 goals.
The 2026/27 season will be the striker’s 16th season of his professional career, having also played for Manchester City, Norwich, Sheffield United and Chesterfield.
