LIVE: PNE vs Reading

Big opportunity for Sinclair

Scott Sinclair comes in for only his second start under Ryan Lowe, having been taken off early against Sheffield United due to a red card.

He will have to play at wing back today but it is a role hes played before.

Ryan Lowe makes just one change for this afternoon’s game, Scott Sinclair coming in for Josh Earl at left wing back.

PNE Starting XI: Iversen, van den Berg, Bauer, Hughes, Potts, Whiteman, Browne, Johnson, Sinclair, Riis, Archer.

PNE Subs: Ripley, Rafferty, Diaby, Lindsay, McCann, Ledson, Evans.

The main man to stop

Reading’s key man this afternoon, John Swift, who has nine goals and 11 assists has scored more goals against PNE than any other side in the football league, netting four times.

PNE have lost six of the last eight games against Reading, having lost 2-1 earlier on in the season.

Preston staying focused on themselves and not their opponent's troubles

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe is paying no attention to the disturbances at Reading ahead of their Championship meeting this afternoon.

The Royals will come to Deepdale (3pm) off the back of a 0-0 draw with Peterbrough United which then saw their team bus trapped by protesting fans.

Reading sit just above the relegation zone and there have been calls for manager Veljko Paunovic to leave.

Lowe however feels that a side such as Reading that is fighting for its life can be the toughest task.

“Whatever is going on at Reading goes on at Reading.

“All we have to do is prepare right for Reading, their style, their team, their manager and what they’re going to try and do to take points off us.

“They’re coming to take points off us and we don’t want that to happen.”
