Morecambe face an away trip should they beat Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup
Morecambe face a trip to either Newport County AFC or Watford in the fourth round of this season's Carabao Cup.
Thursday night’s draw for the last 16 sees an away trip on offer to Derek Adams’ players against either a Watford side relegated from the Premier League or a Newport team boasting a former Shrimp in Kevin Ellison.
Before that, however, is the game with Newcastle United in round three with it being the first time the Shrimps have reached that stage since 2007.
The two clubs have met in this competition before, Newcastle running out 2-0 winners at the former Globe Arena in August 2013.
That match will be played at the newly-christened Mazuma Stadium next Wednesday, September 23 (7.45pm).
