Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers' rivals part ways with manager after relegation
Preston North End’s Lancashire rivals will be back in the Championship next year
Scott Parker has left Burnley by mutual consent after relegation from the Premier League.

The Clarets will be back in Preston North End’s league next season, with only 12 months spent back in the top flight. Burnley collected 100 points in 2024/25, finishing second in the Championship in Parker’s first campaign at Turf Moor.
However, they have only won four of their 34 Premier League matches this season, with one point taken from the last eight fixtures. Ex-PNE man, Mike Jackson, will take interim charge of the Clarets’ remaining four games.
Parker said: 'It has been an immense privilege to lead this great club over the past two years. I have enjoyed every moment of our journey together, but feel that now is the right time for both parties to move in a different direction.
'I reflect back with great pride on what we achieved during my time at the club, especially our unforgettable promotion season in 2024/25, and it was a true honour to lead this team into the Premier League.’
Sky Sports report that ‘the process of appointing Parker's replacement has begun but the club have not held any conversations with potential candidates’. Steven Gerrard has been linked with the vacancy, having been out of management since January 2025.
