“I’m really glad to get it over the line”: Midfielder joins AFC Fylde after leaving Bamber Bridge

Former Bamber Bridge midfielder becomes AFC Fylde’s latest addition.

AFC Fylde have finally got their man after confirming the arrival of midfielder Archie Lang.

The 21-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Mill Farm following his departure from Bamber Bridge.

Lang, who had impressed at Brig since joining them from Thornton Cleveleys, was an unused substitute in the Coasters’ National League victory over Hornchurch on Friday.

He said: “I’m really glad to get it over the line.

“It’s been a long time coming, but I’m really happy to be here and I’m just ready to kick on now.

“I want to push myself and this feels like the right place to do so.”

Brig previously announced in August that they had turned down an offer for Lang from the Coasters.

However, they then confirmed on Thursday that Lang had activated a clause within his contract to terminate his deal following the departure of former boss Jamie Milligan earlier this month.

Fylde moved quickly to get the deal done, with head coach Craig Mahon thrilled to have boosted his midfield options.

He said: “Archie is someone we’ve had our eye on for a while, with Danny Rowe (head scout) initially bringing him onto our radar.

“We feel he has the potential to make the step up and push on further with us.

“He’s a player we believe we can develop and we’re really pleased to get him in and give him that opportunity.”
