Apprenticeship programme
Their award winning apprenticeship programme develops their people of the future and offers you the opportunity to earn while you learn. On offer are advanced and higher level apprenticeships, where you’ll gain hands on experience and study towards an industry recognised qualification. Depending on your chosen route, it can take two or three years to complete the programme which is all funded by Electricity North West.
Roles available throughout the North West region include maintaining and upgrading underground power cables and overhead lines, along with cyber security and design engineers. There are also wider IT roles including network engineers and testers along with roles in health and safety and quantity surveying. They offer a generous pension scheme, reward benefits portal and as part of the programme a variety of team building, community events including a residential break in the Lake District.
Their pass rate is impressive. 96.8% of apprentices pass, compared to the national average of 53%. The results are testament to the hard work of their apprentices, trainers and colleagues.
We’re incredibly proud of our apprenticeship programme and providing the opportunity for a job for life. We work in an industry that makes a real difference to people’s lives day in, day out and our colleagues really enjoy living and working in the communities we serve.
Chris added: “It’s an exciting time to be part of our organisation as we develop the network to support a greener, low carbon future. We have lots of major programme works coming up over the next few years which will see millions of pounds invested in the region and our apprentices will play a crucial part of this.
“I’d encourage anyone thinking about a career in our industry to go for it. You won’t regret it!” Learn more about apprenticeships.
