Preston once prided itself on having a pub for every day of the year and, while that may sadly no longer be the case given the rate at which some of the city’s most historic boozers have shut their doors, there are still a fair few which stick in the memory as being classic PNE joints.

7. Sumners was a firm favourite amongst Preston North End fans and was always packed to the rafters on matchdays. But in 2018, not long after being sold by the Greene King, Sumners was mysteriously demolished - before such a order granting the act was given! Plans are afoot to turn the plot into housing.
