Playgrounds could be brutal in the 80s and early 90s. We’ve found a selection of pictures showing kids enjoying (or enduring) the playground equipment. Recognise anyone? Let us know.

9. Playgrounds of Peril
A fuming vicar - the Rev Dale Barton of St Stephen's Church, Broadgate - claimed a £10m road scheme will rob local youngsters of a place to play and put lives at risk. Children from more than 450 homes use the Hartington Road playground, but will soon be dicing with death as they are forced to play on the traffic-congested streets as the play area is being pulled down to make way for a link route between Penwortham bypass and Preston Ring Road, via Marsh Lane | National World

12. Playgrounds of Peril
Whoops! An official red tape mix-up has robbed children of their favourite playground. While Town Hall officials were congratulating themselves on providing the adventure fun park - workmen were bulldozing it flat. Diggers and cutting equipment moved in as officials sat back oblivious to what was happening - workmen had got the wrong playground.
