Unilever is recalling “unsafe” batches of Wall's Mini Calippo multipacks which could contain "small pieces of metal".
Wall’s has published a Product Recall Information Notice on its website to inform consumers about the safety concern.
The notice, also found on the The Food Standards Agency (FSA) website, explains that "Wall's is taking the precautionary measure of recalling a limited batch of Wall's Mini Calippo Orange & Lemon-Lime multi-packs as internal quality checks have shown they may contain very small fragments of metal.
"The safety of the people that buy and use our products is always our number one priority which is why we are taking the precaution of recalling this limited number of Wall's Mini Calippo Orange & Lemon-Lime multi-packs."
How do I check if my product is safe?
If you have purchased a Wall’s Mini Calippo Orange & Lime multipack, containing six 80ml ice lollies, you should check the product’s best before date, as well as its batch code.
Both can be found on the short side of the product box.
The products deemed to be unsafe all have a best before date of April or May 2022, along with a batch code of L0121, L0122, L0123, L0124, L0125 or L0126.
What do I do if I have bought the product being recalled?
If your multipack of Mini Orange & Lime Calippos meets the above criteria, the product is not safe for eating and should not be consumed.
Both Walls and the FSA have instead advised consumers to contact Unilever’s free Careline on 0800 731 1507.
Wall’s product recall notice states, "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank everyone for their co-operation."
The FSA has confirmed that no other Wall's products are affected by this safety issue.
