We sincerely apologise for the disappointment - Morecambe Winter Gardens Wizard of Oz panto cancelled
Ticket holders for a beloved pantomime have been left gutted with news it has been cancelled.
A production of the Wizard of Oz at Morecambe Winter Gardens, located at 209 Marine Road, which was due to take place once again this weekend will not go ahead.
A spokesperson for Morecambe Winter Garden cited the reason as circumstances entirely out of their control.

They said: “As ticket holders for last weekend will be aware and with sincere apologies that the production of The Wizard of Oz Pantomime at Morecambe Winter Gardens has been cancelled.
“This difficult decision was made due to circumstances entirely out of our control.
“The production company, LHK Productions verbally cancelled the show on Thursday 11th December but, despite multiple attempts from our office staff, has not issued a written statement for a press release, putting us in the challenging position of having to inform you directly with just over 24 hours notice of the first production.”
They added: “We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this will cause and the entire run has been cancelled.
“We want to acknowledge the incredible effort by our staff, volunteers, and crew who have worked tirelessly over the last few weeks to prepare the venue and support the production.
“We are all deeply saddened by this outcome.”

Refunds
The spokesperson confirmed that all ticket holders for the next two weekends are in the process of being refunded and they will have been informed by Ticket Source on Friday.
They added that they would receive further communication regarding the specifics of a refund shortly.
Cash refunds will be handled by the box office at the front of the building which is open Tuesday and Thursday this weekend or by contacting the theatre.
Complimentary film screenings which were shown last weekend were for that one weekend only.
LHK Productions have been approached for comment.
