Wanted man detained after police pursuit

Inspector Steve Bradshaw confirmed that man wanted over a domestic incident in Lancaster was identified driving his car on the M6 near Charnock Richard by a dog handler.

The officer called in support from the road policing unit, who backed off while a helicopter team was called in.

But before the helicopter could be dispatched, the wanted man pulled into Charnock Richard Services.

He was arrested over domestic-related issues which have not been disclosed.

The incident happened late last night or early this morning.
