Unexpected home delivery for new dad
When wife Andrea’s waters broke at 6.30am on Tuesday, Andrew, an engineering surveyor, took the couple’s three-year-old Finley and two-year-old Bradley round to his parents house in preparation for the new arrival.
But by the time he got back home to The Warren in Fulwood, matters had progressed much more quickly than anticipated.

“I was on the phone to the midwife, who was talking me through things.
“I got Andrea out of the bathroom and onto our bed. It was all over so quickly that I didn’t have time to panic, you just go into a zone.”
Ambulance crews arrived at the family’s home 10 minutes after Daniel was born to check over the 8lb 8oz tot and Andrea, 39, who was due to be induced the next day.

“It was a bit different to our other births. The first one with Finley took 30 hours and it was 12 hours with Bradley.
“Both of the boys are very young, but they’re thrilled with the baby and are trying to help out.”
News of Daniel’s swift arrival comes only days after fellow Fulwood dad Simon Hutton delivered his son, Sebastian James on the bathroom floor after partner Kim Chapman experienced only one contraction.
