Trial after alleged gun assault

A 20-YEAR-OLD man is due to stand trial accused of an assault involving a firearm in Chorley.

Jordie Mochan, of South Terrace, Abbey Village, near Chorley, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence, possession of a noxious liquid or gas, and possession of counterfeit currency at Preston Magistrates Court on Saturday, May 28.

Mochan was arrested and charged following an incident where a man was reportedly assaulted with the handle of a firearm in a house on Northgate Drive, Chorley, on Thursday, May 26.

He has been released on conditional bail until his trial at Preston Crown Court on June 28.

A girl, aged 17, from Chorley, was also arrested and released on bail on suspicion of possession of a firearm following the reported incident.

She has been released on police bail until June 29.
