Motorcyclist 'airlifted to hospital with serious injuries' after crash with 'farm vehicle' in Lancaster
A man has been rushed to hospital following a serious crash involving a motorcyclist and a farm vehicle in Lancaster today (March 29).
Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were first called to the scene in Quernmore Road at around 11.10am.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, reportedly suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
Closures were in place along Quernmore Road with Postern Gate Road and Quernmore Road with Copy Lane.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "It looks like a collision involving a motorbike and a farm vehicle in Quernmore Road, Lancaster.
"It came into us at 11.10am. It looks like the male motorcyclist is being airlifted to hospital."
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We have attended the scene, following an initial call at 11.14am.
"A man in his 60s has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
"Looks like injuries to head, chest and leg."
Police have since confirmed the road closures in the area have now lifted.
