Man's body found on A59 in Ribble Valley

The A59 has been closed to traffic between Sawley Road and Worston Road whilst police investigate the circumstances of the man's death.

A police spokesman said: "We are currently at the scene of an incident on the A59 close to Chatburn.

"The road has been closed after the body of a man was found in the carriageway.

"Emergency services have attended with the man sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The road is currently closed in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area."
