'11-month-old baby boy' rushed to hospital with 'head injuries' after car crash in Blackburn

An "11-month-old boy" has been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Blackburn.

Emergency services rushed to reports of a crash in King Street, near to the junction with Stonyhurst Road, at around 3.20pm today (March 2).

Upon arrival, police discovered a "small child had suffered a head injury" after "a number of cars had collided".

The 11-month-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment, according to North West Ambulance Service.

King Street was closed in both directions between Montague Street and Stonyhurst Road while the scene was made safe.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.
