Preston 'gridlocked' as drivers face two weeks of A6 roadworks along Garstang Road
Three sections of Garstang Road will see closures over the next two weeks...
Drivers in Preston are reporting delays due to roadworks in Garstang Road today.
Lancashire County Council and National Highways are resurfacing a stretch of the A6 from the Broughton roundabout to the Moor Park crossroads with Blackpool Road.
The works were due to start on Tuesday (May 26) but had to be postponed because the road surface was ‘too hot’ for the surface dressing to be effective, said Lancashire Highways.

Instead, work commenced on Wednesday and is scheduled to continue until Monday, June 9, with crews on site between 9am and 4pm each day.
Lancashire Highways said if works along the route run into the following week, hours will be reduced to 9am–3pm to avoid delays to school traffic, while access for buses and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
