Drivers 'let down' after Lancashire County Council say no to pothole repairs on busy Buckshaw roundabout
“Unbelievable. Did the inspector have his glasses on?” fumed one resident...
Drivers and bikers in Buckshaw Village were disappointed to learn that potholes on a busy roundabout will not be repaired after being inspected by Lancashire County Council.

The potholes on the Buckshaw Avenue / Central Avenue roundabout were reported by Councillor Aidy Riggott last month after concerns were raised by residents.
This week, the County Council responded to Coun Riggott’s report, but it was not what the people of Buckshaw wanted to hear.
“This work has been assessed by our inspector and no work has been identified as being required at this time,” said a spokesperson for the Council.

Coun Riggott told the Post: “I’m very disappointed in the response as are the residents who have raised this matter.
“You can clearly see that it previously met the intervention level for work under the last administration as you can see previous repairs in the photos.”
‘Did the inspector have his eyes shut?’
The County Council’s response was not well received by residents in Buckshaw who voiced their frustration at the decision not to repair the potholes on Buckshaw’s busiest stretch of road.
“Absolute nonsense Lancashire County Council,” said one local motorcyclist. “If you hit that in the dark on two wheels, odds on you are coming to grief!”, while another added, “that is deadly for bikers.”
Another quipped, “did the inspector have his eyes shut?”, while another fumed, “it’s a joke and a insult to all of us who use that road on a daily basis.”
Lancashire County Council were approached for comment.
