The staggering amount raised for charity by Booths customers in just one year

The family-owned company has long supported its local community.

Booths customers, colleagues and suppliers have raised a mammoth amount for charity in the past year.

In total, more than £780,000 has been raised for good causes in 2025/26 - through customer donations at the till, community events, supplier partnerships, product collaborations and in-store campaigns.

The annual total includes more than £400,000 donated by customers through the Pennies micro-donation scheme. This takes the amount raised through Booths’ Pennies partnership to more than £1.25 million since its launch in 2023.

Since Pennies was introduced, customers have pressed the charity donation button more than five million times, demonstrating how small individual donations can collectively make a significant difference.

One charity especially close to the hearts of Booths colleagues is Elsie’s Story, established in memory of Elsie Dot Stancombe, who was one of the three young victims of the tragic knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in Southport on July 29, 2024.

Elsie’s mother, Jenny, is a much-loved former Booths colleague and remains very much part of the wider Booths family. Customers have purchased more than 3,000 Elsie’s Story candles, raising £28,688 to support the charity’s work with children and young people, while standing alongside the families and everyone affected by the events in July 2024.

Booths’ supplier partnerships have also played a significant role. The retailer has supported the Royal Countryside Fund through initiatives including its English Sparkling Wine partnership, helping to strengthen the resilience of British farming communities.

Emma Booth, Chief Brand Officer at Booths, said: “Supporting our communities has always been at the heart of Booths. Whether it’s a customer adding a few pence at the till, buying a charity product, taking part in a fundraising event or one of our suppliers working alongside us to support a cause, every contribution plays an important part.

“We’re incredibly proud of what our customers, colleagues and partners achieved together during 2025/26. Raising more than £780,000 in a single year is a remarkable collective achievement and reflects the generosity of the people who shop with us, work with us and supply us. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.”

Alongside these initiatives, Booths has continued to support food banks, clothing banks and a wide range of local and national charities, reinforcing its longstanding commitment to the communities at the heart of the business.
