A man who stole £200 worth of skincare from a Boots store in Preston has been jailed.

£206 worth of products were stolen from the Boots store on Fishergate on Wednesday.

Luke Roberts was later arrested and charged with theft.

The 27-year-old, of West Park Avenue in Ashton-on-Ribble, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop after appearing at Preston Magistrates Court on Friday.

He was subsequently sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

“The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.”
