Preston businesses have literally stepped up to the plate this half-term with a range of free meal offers for children whose families might need a helping hand during these difficult times.

These are just some of the city's kind-hearted takeaways, restaurants and other businesses that are ensuring that no child goes hungry in Preston this half-term.

5. Top Cafe, Ribbleton Lane, Preston
Top Cafe have organised a half-term breakfast club, from 8.30 until 9.30. They are also providing a packed lunch, which includes a sandwich, drink, snack and a piece of fruit. These are available Monday to Friday until 11.30am. Photo: Google

Victoria Chippy and local letting agents Roberts & Co have teamed up to help school children with free meals throughout half term. They are giving children in need a free small chips & small sausage or chips & gravy each day until Friday, October 30.
8. Moss Side Community Centre, Dunkirk Lane, Leyland
Volunteers at the Moss Side Community Centre are making sure no child goes hungry this half-term by providing free lunch bags from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Donations have come from local residents and businesses, including Asda in Clayton Green and Hannah's Butties and Bakes in Mawdesley. Please call 01772 624126 to arrange collection.
