I'm a 10-year-old from Preston and I performed on stage with Skye Newman at Manchester Academy!

A 10-year-old from Preston has had her dream come true- she got to perform on stage with her favourite artist.

Primary school pupil Oceann Dann, who lives in Ashton, has become quite the TikTok star in her own right thanks to her dancing, amassing 90k likes and 3,500 followers so far.

Oceann’s TikTok account even recently caught the attention of popstar Skye Newman who invited her to perform on stage with her in Manchester last weekend.

Explaining how it all came about, mum Chanel said: “She’s been dancing since she was four and all through her dancing, she’s always said to me ‘mum I’m gonna be famous, I’m going to make it’ and I kind of laugh it off, like every kid had these dreams. But then from about seven, she wanted to post dance videos on TikKok so she’s always on this TikTok account that I manage and for the past six months she’s been obsessed with Skye Newman, doing dances to her songs. Then last week, Oceann posted a TikTok and it said ‘manifesting being on stage with Skye Newman’. Skye’s sister then messaged and said ‘Skye is all about manifestation and I think you are made to be on stage with her.”

Worried it was a scam, mum of two Chanel did not tell her eldest about the message, until she could verify it really was Skye’s team.

In fact the 29-year-old was so worried about the offer being withdrawn and "crushing her dreams”, Chanel only told Oceann about the stage invite an hour before leaving for the Skye Newman concert as audience members.

It of course turned out not a scam and the chart-topper brought Oceann on to the Manchester Academy stage last Saturday to dance in front of the sold out crowd during Oceann’s favourite song ‘Lonely Girl’.

Oceann, a pupil at both Little Voices Preston and Shock Out Academy in Manchester, told the Post: “Manifestation is real, I was so shocked and excited when I found out.

“It was a memory that I’ll never forget & I hope everyone enjoyed it

“Skye is very kind and I can’t believe how normal she is”

Chanel, who works in social care said: “It still doesn't feel real, like oh my god has that actually happened.

“But she's always been that kid, like when she was younger she went on tour with So Solid Crew, she's been on Britain's Got Talent with her old dance school, like she's always got me on the go, she's always like ‘What's next? What can I do now?’ so it's like constant adrenaline.

“As a mum, it's just like, a weird feeling, like, how has she got so much confidence? Nothing phases her. Then when I said to her about going to school, ‘I bet you can’t wait to tell all of your friends’. She's like ‘I don't know what to do when I go to school mum. I want to tell my friends, but I don't want to show off, so I might just get my friends into a room and tell him secretly.’ I'm like ‘You should be showing off. It's absolutely amazing’. She's just like,chill about everything, takes everything in her stride. I just think like ‘how are you so chill about everything but then when you got on stage, you have so much confidence.”

Following the unforgettable night, Chanel shared clips of Oceann dancing on stage with Skye to the TikTok account and not only was it viewed by thousands of users, the singer herself also saw it and publicly praised the Prestonian.

Skye Newman commented: “Absolutely smashed it angel!! YOU ROCKED THAT STAGE [heart] I’m so proud of you and so is everyone in that room [heart]”

In the days since the concert, Oceann has been spotted out and about in Preston by people who had seen the news which Chanel says her daughter has been loving.

Chanel added: “I had Oceann when I was 19 so life hasn't been easy. I have struggled being a young parent and then my brother also passed away two and a half years ago. But through every struggle, Oceann just takes it in her stride and I feel like like her dancing is what kind of keeps her emotion level. She’s just dead passionate about being someone, making something of her dancing but she doesn’t show off, she’s very mature about it.”

Oceann’s original TikTok account has been taken down since her Skye Newman performance went viral due to confusion over who owned the account (you have to be 13 but Chanel inists she manges the page).
