Preston Court: man charged with carrying a large kitchen knife in a public place

A Preston man has been charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding another with intent to do harm and will face trial.

Stephen Cole Dixon, 58, of Ribbleton Avenue, Preston, is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Ellis Hampson with intent to do him grievous bodily harm between April 30 and May 1 this year. At a previous hearing at Preston Magistrates Court on May 2 he is also accused carrying a large kitchen knife in a public place at Ribbleton Avenue between April 30 and May 1.

A plea of guilty was indicated on both charges. Mr Dixon has now been remanded on conditional bail until his court hearing which will be heard at Preston Crown Court on May 23. The conditions of his bail are that he is not to contact directly or indirectly Ellis Hampson and must live and sleep each night at an address in Preston.
