My guide to the 3 best things to do in Preston, Chorley & South Ribble next week

Senior reporter Aimee Seddon with her entertainment guide to three things to do next week in Preston, Chorley and South Ribble.

Preston

In Preston, the first of eight Santa Specials at Ribble Steam Railway takes place on Sunday, November 30.

Snuggle up with your loved ones in a traditionally steam-heated carriage as Father Christmas visits you in your seat to hand each child their very own Christmas gift.

Tickets, which cost £20, include light seasonal refreshments on the train, access to the festively trimmed museum and there will be live music plus the odd elf or two.

The Leyland Christmas Lights Switch On takes place on Saturday, November 29 on Hough Lane.

Corrie star and Celebrity Big Brother winner Jack P Shepherd, plus former Liberty X member, winner of The Voice UK and front man for Wet Wet Wet Kevin Simm, have the honours of turning on the lights.

The free event also features Christmas market stalls, a brilliant line up of stage entertainment and children’s fairground rides.
