Fulwood care home says let’s all do the Cha-Cha

A Lancashire care home has made a unique contribution to making people smile during the Coronavirus crisis. It decide to spread a little happiness by posting fun videos of staff and residents on the move.

It started with staff at Springfield Manor Gardens responding to the BBC’s call for care workers to film themselves to the Amarillo song for a charity fundraiser. That proved such fun they went on to film a song from the film ‘Sister Act’.

At first just one resident Richard Price was on camera. But last week’s film involved everyone at the care home on Garstang Road,Fulwood, with staff dressing up in retro style for the Cha-Cha Slide.

Deputy Manager Lindsey Pilkington said: “We decided with families not being able to come in due to lockdown we thought we would give back.”

She added the fun activity also helped people stay active. The films are posted on the home's Facebook site.
