One of Preston's oldest mills goes on the market - here's how much for
Have you ever worked here?
One of Preston’s oldest remaining mill buildings could be yours.
At its peak, the five-storey mill off London Road housed 708 looms producing jacconettes, cambrics, embroidery and fancy cloths, but the site transitioned away from heavy textile manufacturing over the 20th century. It has served industrial and creative uses, including Frank Sanderson's bookbinding and print finishing business, and was more recently rebranded as ‘the Big Mill Gallery’ during the Preston Encounter Festival.

What do you get for your money?
The former mill is arranged over five storeys, made of traditional brick construction beneath a timber and felt covered roof incorporating roof lights. Internally, the floors are of solid concrete construction with cast iron columns, providing predominantly open plan accommodation throughout.
The floor to ceiling height at ground floor level is approximately 4.13 m, with upper floors providing approximately 3.3 m, excluding the attic level. Windows are mixed uPVC double glazed and timber single glazed windows, with lighting provided by fluorescent strip fittings. WCs are provided at each level and the building is served by a gas fired heating system. Loading is via a full height commercial access door at ground floor level together with lift and hoist system.
Externally, the property benefits from a secure surfaced yard providing approximately eight car parking spaces together with two further off road spaces.
