New micropub planned for the heart of Longridge - here's what we know

Plans have been revealed for a new micropub in the heart of Longridge.

Under the company name The Ginger Still, Lynette Hitchen has applied to Ribble Valley Borough Council (RVBC) change the use of 91 Berry Lane from a retail shop (Class E) to drinking establishment.

The building was previously occupied by The Wind In The Willows dress agency but has been vacant for some time, and is currently used as a storage area for the landlord.

The building lies within a conservation area and no external alterations to the front elevation are planned. A bar, WC and seating area will occupy the ground floor area, and there will be additional seating on the first floor. No internal structural changes proposed, with a heritage statement saying: “All works are designed to be sympathetic to the host building”.

Miss Hitchen proposes opening the bar from 1-11pm on Mondays to Saturdays, and from 1-10pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

A decision on the change of use will be made in coming weeks by RVBC.
