Longridge based Skiddle to celebrate 25th anniversary in Blackpool with Lenny Henry - and you’re invited!

A top ticketing and events firm, founded here in Lancashire, has announced that their upcoming anniverary celebrations will feature a very famous face.

Founded in Preston by Lancastrians Ben Sebborn and Richard Dyer back in 2001, Skiddle is a primary ticket outlet and events guide, now based in Longridge.

2026 therefore marks their 25th anniversary and to celebrate, they’re hosting a special awards night for local businesses at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Taking place on Thursday, April 30, Skiddle will be celebrating its birthday alongside loved ones, award finalists, award sponsors, guests from across the industry, and even the comedian Lenny Henry who has been announced as the after-party guest.

The event information reads: “2026 marks Skiddle’s 25th year and what better way to celebrate than by honouring the industry that’s been at the heart of our journey. We want to recognise the brilliance, dedication and innovation that make live events and experiences unforgettable.

“That’s why we’re bringing back The Skiddle Awards – a night to celebrate the excellence that drives our industry forward.”

Posting on LinkedIn about the event, co-founder Rich said: “I'm delighted to share that we have Sir Lenny Henry hosting the Skiddle birthday at Blackpool Tower on Thursday 30th April.

“When we set about planning our 25 years celebration it was obvious. We wanted the most iconic venue in the UK, full of our favourite staff, event organisers, friends and suppliers with an evening of fun hosted by the king of entertainment himself.

“Looking at what we've got lined up I think we've achieved that. Tickets are on sale now at www.skiddle25.com and I would love to see you there.”

Running between 6:00pm and 1:00am, the evening will begin with a welcome drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal before the awards ceremony takes centre stage.

Everyone is welcome and tickets can be purchased online here, costing £185 per person.

There are 16 awards being handed out in total, and whilst you can nominate yourself online here, it does state that applications closed on January 16.

Just a month prior, Skiddle will be heavily involved in another huge Lancashire awards night.

The Preston based firm are one of the sponsors for The Red Rose Awards, a celebration of business across the county which is being held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on March 12.

Speaking about the Red Rose Awards back in November, Rich said: “It is Skiddle’s 25th birthday next year and we are a big player in Lancashire business.

“A lot of people might not realise that we are based in Longridge and have a big online offering.

“It started in 2001 as a bit of a hobby but has turned into a business with 100 staff.

“We want to celebrate and highlight our legacy in the county.

“That’s why we are supporting the Red Rose Awards by sponsoring the ‘After-Party’ and ‘Runway’.”
