Lancaster animal charity issues urgent plea for help after taking in huge number of homeless pets
A Lancaster animal rescue charity has had an incredibly busy and emotional few days after an influx of puppies and kittens and other sick animals.
Animal Care currently have 10 beautiful five-week-old puppies and their mum, a single seven-week-old puppy, a three-week-old kitten, and a sick bulldog in their care who need constant feeding, cleaning, and attention.
A spokesman for Animal Care said: “In the last 24 hours, we have also taken in a group of 10 cats that had been abandoned. We are also working alongside social services with three other properties that have a huge number of cats and kittens.
“Alongside this, our sanctuary remains completely full with the animals already depending on us every single day.

“In just the last three days, we’ve been contacted by desperate people needing help for over 20 dogs and 50 cats and kittens.
"The need for rescue support right now is absolutely heartbreaking, and sadly we simply cannot help everyone, no matter how much we wish we could.
"If you’re able to support us, no matter how small the donation, it would mean so much and will go directly towards caring for these animals.
“Please follow the link to donate at https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/donate?cid=562446#amount

“Alternatively, if you would prefer to donate supplies directly, our 10 new puppies urgently need Harringtons dry puppy food, chew toys, and blankets.
“Our cats need Whiskas kitten dry food, Iams kitten dry food, and Whiskas wet kitten food (jelly).
“Our dogs need Harringtons dry & wet. These can be ordered through Amazon or dropped off at the centre.
“Registered volunteers – we need your help now more then ever with the staff so busy, your help walking all our dogs is greatly needed over the following weeks.

"If you can spare just an hour it would be greatly appreciated.
“If you are interested in adopting an animal please get in touch with us these animals need a home.
“Thank you to every single person who continues to support us, donate, share our posts, and help us keep going. This past week has shown us just how important Animal Care is to the community, but we can’t do it without you!”
